ABSTRACT

As Blockchain technology serves as the backbone of cryptocurrency proliferation and other business successfully, it has been drawing attention from logistics firms to implement the same model. The aim of this study is to explore the issues and impact of the traditional transport documents such as ocean bills of lading and airway bills on all involved parties that causes discrepancy, inaccuracy, and insecurity in the process. This paper utilizes the content analysis which is very important to assess characteristics of these transport documents. This paper also employed the Linear Regression analysis to assess the causes of traditional transport documents that impact on discrepancy. The results confirmed there is a significant relationship between characteristics of traditional transport documents such as airway bills issued by the shipping firms and the inaccuracy and discrepancy. The implementation of Blockchain technology into the process of airway bill and ocean bill of lading will be the best choice for all concerned parties to solve the mentioned problem. It demonstrates the benefit of this implementation significantly.
