ABSTRACT

This study is an attempt to identify the work engagement of non-teaching and teaching personnel of Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) in terms of vigor, dedication, and absorption; to determine if the level of the working force work engagement significantly differs when they are grouped according to their demographics. The very high result of their work engagement as to dedication is a product of the employee’s long stay in the University. How LPU leaders manage their employees is a result of the kind of engagement levels they demonstrate in their respective workplaces. Such engagement influences their work is truly contributory to LPU’s success in the area of accreditation, student board performances and other quality assurance activities. In terms of absorption, results confirm how engaged LPU workforce is, which in turn can be an asset to the university. Among LPU leaders, they disclosed how the workforce manages to fulfil their jobs in order to perform their task excellently. On test of differences, demographic variables are not contributory to vigour and absorption of the personnel of Lyceum University; on the other hand; dedication affects their length of service. This explains that dedication is a by-product of long service to any organization. The longer you stay, the more you become dedicated, involved, enthusiastic, inspired and challenged to your workplaces. This research recommends the conduct of training needs and seminars. It may also be used as material for studying departmental engagement using additional intervening variables. Also, additional respondents, preferably 100 percent, may be employed to generalize research results. Similar study focusing on other variables not covered in this research be conducted and future study may also include performance evaluation results of the employees.
